MARC L. THOMPSON

Marc is a results-oriented information technology professional with a solid, hands-on management style and decades of IT experience.
He is an accomplished executive with a broad, multi-industry background in such critical areas as systems support, administration, and system maintenance. Throughout his career, Marc has shown himself to be an effective leader with proven problem-solving skills. He has been a Certified Network Engineer (CNE) and holds certifications from numerous networking suppliers, such as Cisco Systems.
- ROI Computer Services
Prior to forming his own company in 2006, Marc spent 20 years at ROI Computer Services in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. He served as that company’s vice president and chief operating officer, managing a staff of approximately 20 information technology professionals. His responsibilities included designing, building, implementing, and supporting networks and application software. This included LANs, WANs, and MANs for clients ranging in size from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Marc developed IT solutions that successfully helped clients expand their businesses, increase efficiencies, and reduce costs.
- UCS/Systems
Before joining ROI, Marc spent three years as general manager at UCS/Systems in Englewood, Colorado.
He performed network installation and management with Novell versions 86, 1.x and 2.0, and many software packages. During Marc’s tenure, the company significantly improved its asset to liability ratio, despite adverse economic conditions. Marc supported CPM, DOS, UNIX, and XENIX systems, in addition to proprietary operating systems. He performed independent consulting services and custom software maintenance in Dbase, as well as training and templating functions for a variety of other software.
- United Bank of Denver
From 1982 to 1985, Marc was a senior technical support manager at the United Bank of Denver. Here he converted and installed a $2 million workstation-based system using VAX hosts. He utilized CICS, participated in initial IBM connectivity through PCs, and employed Oracle, Revelation, Condor, and other database and productivity software. Marc also served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army, where he received numerous commendations and superior performance ratings.

A graduate of Tufts University, Marc is actively involved with the Boy Scouts, the 75th Ranger Association, and in coaching sports teams. He lives in Morgantown, Pennsylvania with his wife and teenage son.
